ericaPresenter: Erica Kaplan, Senior Institutional Research Analyst, Touro College.

This presentation will be a practical tutorial covering the basics of creating visualizations in Tableau. This workshop is designed for those who are new to Tableau and want to learn how using the software can advance their career.  Topics will include:
  1. Why Tableau is an important skill to have and how companies use it
  2. Real-world examples of data visualizations
  3. Tutorial on creating charts, using filters, and formatting data in Tableau
  4. Career prospects and job outlook for Tableau developers

Erica Kaplan joined Touro College in 2015 and has spent her entire career in higher education. In her role as a Senior Institutional Research Analyst, she creates data visualizations in Tableau to help college leaders make data-driven decisions.  She also has a passion for using data for student success initiatives and has presented research on the factors that influence student retention at various conferences. Erica is actively involved in the Institutional Research community and has served on the board of the NJ Association for Institutional Research while employed at Caldwell University.

Erica received a B.S. in Economics from West Chester University of Pennsylvania and a M.Ed in Higher Education from Penn State.
